Iron Ore Concentrate – TGC Iran

TGC Iran – Your Trusted Source for Premium Iron Ore Concentrates

Iron ore concentrate is a high-purity, processed derivative of raw iron ore — refined through beneficiation to remove impurities and increase iron content. It serves as a critical raw material in the steelmaking industry, particularly for pelletizing, direct reduction (DRI), and blast furnace operations. Emico+2GVG Co.+2

At TGC Iran, we commit to delivering concentrate that meets the stringent demands of modern steel producers: high iron grade, low impurities, consistent particle size — all packaged and delivered with industry-grade reliability.

What is Iron Ore Concentrate?

After extraction, raw iron ore typically contains a mixture of iron-bearing minerals and gangue (waste material), along with variable moisture and particle size. Through a sequence of crushing, grinding, beneficiation (gravity, magnetic separation, flotation), and dewatering, the ore is upgraded to iron ore concentrate (i.e. “dressed ore”). This process significantly increases the relative iron content and reduces unwanted materials.

Compared to raw ore, concentrate is finer in particle size, more chemically homogeneous, and easier to handle — making it ideal as feedstock in steelmaking. CMH

Why Iron Ore Concentrate Matters in Steelmaking

Using high-grade concentrate provides several advantages:

Higher Iron Content: Reduces the volume of non-iron material — improves furnace efficiency, reduces energy consumption per ton of steel.

Lower Impurities: Minimizes deleterious elements (SiO₂, Al₂O₃, P, S), resulting in higher-quality steel and fewer slag-related issues.

Consistent Quality & Uniform Particle Size: Ensures predictable behavior during pelletizing, sintering, or direct reduction — critical for maintaining process stability.

Cost-Effectiveness: Although processing adds cost relative to raw ore, the improved yield, energy savings, and reduced wastage often make concentrate more economical over the long run.

Flexibility: Concentrate can be used to produce pellets, sintered ore, direct-reduction iron, providing versatile feedstock for different steelmaking routes. GVG Co.+2Fuladkaran+2
